FocusThe e-Learning modules will build on: (i) a comprehensive Training Manual on �Estimating the Opportunity Costs of REDD+� developed by WBI/FCPF in 2009/2010 based on hands-on experience of the Partnership for the Tropical Forest margins (ASB/ICRAF); (ii) three regional train-of-trainers workshops on this topic in Tanzania, Thailand and Colombia; (iii) a lessons learnt document of the global partnership of FCPF after 2.5 years of full operation, prompting 18 tropical forest countries to submit REDD+ Readiness Preparation Proposals for consideration of its governing body, the Participants Committee.

FocusThe United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD) is being organized in pursuance of General Assembly Resolution 64/236. The Conference will take place in Brazil on 4-6 June 2012 to mark the 20th anniversary of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), in Rio de Janeiro, and the 10th anniversary of the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) in Johannesburg. It is envisaged as a Conference at the highest possible level, including Heads of State and Government or other representatives. The Conference will result in a focused political document.
